Live Video:
Live Video

If you have an iSight® or other video camera attached to your computer, you can apply Videator effects to the live video input.

Use Videator to:

  • Grab still shots with Videator effects applied
  • Record yourself with your video camera
  • Set up a “party loop” with constantly changing Videator effects

To see a sample of what Videator can do with live video, choose Live Demo from the File menu. (This option is enabled when you are viewing live video.)

When Videator starts, it looks for a video camera attached to your Mac. If it finds one, and if the camera is not in use by another application, it will automatically open a live video window (called Live Action Camera).

You can also create a live video window (if you don’t already have one open) by choosing Live from the Video menu. Only one live video window can be open at a time.

You can set whether you want the live camera image to be mirrored (so that it looks as if you are looking in a mirror) or not.

To set mirroring, open the Preferences window and check the Mirror video checkbox in the Movie/Video tab. You can also customize your Toolbar and add a mirror toggle button.
